The grey shanked langur looks close to the red shanked douc. Crown, upper arms and back are dark gery. Belly is lighter as for arms. Legs color varies from light grey to dark grey. Face skin is yellowish.

This species lives in evergreen humid forest at elevation from 200 m to 1 500 m. The distribution area is located in central Vietnam and north Cambodia.

They feed on leave, fruits and seeds. Young leaves represent about 80 % of the diet. The proportion of fruit depends on the season.

Peak of birth between january and march. Grey shanked douc lives in small familly groups (2 to 9 individuals) and travel a lot each days.

In captivity this species is very rare and can be see in some Vietnamese park but nowhere else out of south east Asie.

This species is listed in CITES I.
