Peach fronted parakeet looks clos to the orange fronted parakeet. They differs from this species by a black beak and a greener breast and throat.

This parrot can be found in tropical savanna with Mauritia palm. The distribution goes from Brasil to Argentina and Peru.

This species forage on the ground where she takes some seeds and sometimes termites and larvae.

Reproduction depend on region. Nest excavated in termitarium or directly on the ground.

In captivity, this species is not common in zoos. Only 12 parks present them in Europe. She is also rare by private breeders.

This species is classified in CITES II
